Hey gang The wife and I are heading to the Beaumont area for a couple days of caching. Any referrals as to caches that we don't want to miss finding. Looks like that area belongs to Chance Encounter ;D

Yep, CE has a lot of caches in that area (though he now resides in Memphis, TN). Mudfrog and Chicken have a few in the area too. I've only done a handful of caches in the Beaumont area and Rita has kind of trashed a lot of the area since. Empty Ammo Can was a fun cache, so was A Bear in the Woods (even though I DNF'd that one). I went back to try to find A Bear on the way to the Dec. First Monday event, but the area was inaccessible due to the aforementioned Rita. Hopefully a lot of that has been cleaned up by now.

If your talking about CE's "Letterbox Mania", that's another that I DNF'd on the way to the First Monday event. That particular area had been heavily thrashed by Rita, and of course, I was there right before dark trying to find it by flashlight. I found out later the coords are off by about 40 feet and a couple of people have found it since then, so go for it! The easiest access is to park behind the Toys-R-Us.
Got my first Letterbox hybrid icon on my Ohio trip. Long hike, but a nice cache!

WTT-B2 Been so long since we cached Beaumont it would be a wonder if any we did were still active. I remember one good virtual --something BiG-- that was there in town........
