Pepper's dropping coins on the east side!

Way to go HC you little stinker...and here is my log to a very memorable FTF with a deserving coin drop. ;D :)Yippee-Skipee, Woo-Who, Yee-Haw ;D Pepper gets a FTF...and I worked for it too! Ok enough celebrating for now it's time for the story. To start with I was smart and printed out the page I didn't want to leave anything to chance you know how PQ's can be sometimes. Sometime is the key word sometimes you get um all and sometimes ya don't and don't happens frequently to me. I set off thru the Arbor walking and reading the directions at the same time, thinking ok this is going well so far. Then I run out of trail (so I thought) so I go off in the logical direction looking for a Bay Overlook Loop Trail sign... ok fine I spotted one (dang those are little trail signs) so now I know I'm on the right track. First mistake is made less than 5 minutes into tracking down this letterbox. I misinterpret the directions (not knowing) so I think I'm follow directions (and oh by the way I can't count paces) and end up viewing the symbol of our Texas Independence. I continue on following the directions and go 8 paces into the woods. Ok good so far so good I find the debris of someone's former life and start my search and search and search. Hold up I see a little snake coiled up basking in the sun, I say little because it was a baby waiting to be a full grown snake. That totally creeped me out and got a little scared to search. So I walked back out the trail to regroup and give the little guy a chance to go away. I went back in thinking about nothing but the snake and it's momma lurking somewhere close. I was afraid to search because that meant I would have to move stuff. I finally read the hint and realized I must be in the wrong spot (thank goodness) so back out the trail again. I move along down the trail until I find what must be the area, mind you I gave up on counting I decided to just use brute force and my half a brain. I find another view of our Texas Independence and so to myself this must be the area so I start following directions again. Viola! I did it all by myself!!!! It took me almost an hour to find this puppy I had a wonderful time snakes and all I decided this cache was most deserving of Red Bell Pepper coin. Thanks so much for all the entertainment today young man. Pepper

Pepper, I read your cache log for Room With a View. That was scary! Funny too, but mostly scary!. When I was riding the geobike through the park the other day, spreading my cache containers from my geo-pez dispenser, I came across this cotton-mouth right in the middle of the road. He was only about 18" long, but laid back and showed his fangs as I rode by. The sign as you enter the park says watch for snakes and alligators! BTW, Neo76 let me adopt Room With a View and I took ownership tonight, so I'm gonna head out in a day or so with a new log and such. I really think that area has grown up quite a bit since he placed the cache. It has even less of a view now than it did when I was first there a year ago.

That big guy in the picture is exactly what I saw today and he was AT LEAST 4ft long I didn't stick around long enough to find out! He was a good 15ft from where I found the cache thanks goodness.
thanks for posting the picture I will be googling snakes tomorrow morning.

Now you can fight the snakes, That slither cross the trail. Whack 'em on the head, A Bosun's cane will never fail.

Those cotton-mouth water moccasins can be nasty. They tend to stand their ground rather than slither off when confronted. I almost stepped on a big one at Sadie, Sadie Geocaching Lady one day. He was coiled up and hissing about 5 feet from the cache.
