GCTA6V, Barber's Hill Veterans Memorial has been send for approval by the Prime Approver. It's a N29 51.414 W094 51.935 A short 2 stage cache with easy parking. The Challenge is in the puzzle. The cache (4x4x1) is only big enough for small trade items such as coins, patches, stickers, etc. This Memorial stands as a Tribute to the men and women of the Barber's Hill area who honorably served our great nation during times of war and peace. Let us remember the sacrifices they made. May we never forget Freedom has a price. At this memorial, you will find the names of a number of men and women who stood to protect our freedom. Now their number will lead you to the cache. It is at: North: Julian Barber Shane Bassham.George Johnson West: James Brent Shane Bassham.Jessie WilburnJr + 124. Enjoy The Hunt! Paddler112

GCTA6V, Barber's Hill Veterans Memorial....clip..... Paddler112 Wow, paddler112, that was a very clever puzzle. Really enjoyed solving it. Actually, I must credit the Captain with breaking the code!! And then my hasty interpretations would have nearly sent us after wild geese, but backed up, took our time--which is very hard to do when you're chasing an FTF and we were successful in finding the final coords and nabbing the FTF! Took a little keychain knife, left a newly activated Texas Geocoin I'd like to see travel around. Very nice memorial. Things were quiet and peaceful there and we had the place all to ourselves, and at the final waypoint as well. Thanks for a very fun cache, paddler. And thanks for starting this Heads Up topic. I think it's been a great idea, especially on the weekends when our approver can move so painsfully slow in getting a cache posted. Might move this topic over to the Chamber of Secrets, so it would be for members only. Opinions, please.

Outstanding! Well done. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm always curious how good my coords are. Given the complexities of this cache, the 2nd stage really needed to be right the 1st time. When I went to put the cache container out today, I walked it as though I was trying to find it. My GPSr was not giving me very helpful readings. When I take coords for a hide, I try to take 11 shots over 1 hour then average them. And only when the accuracy is w/i 15' or less. In between each shot, I try to walk outside of the accuracy margin for GPSr. It's funny how far off it was today. Paddler112 </>

I think my GPSr was reading 12' at the cache spot. That is pretty good. I have a test spot in my yard and it takes a couple hours of averaging to get the same readings, constantly.

Well, no wonder I've been STF on so many east side caches lately. You folks been cheatin' on this here board! ;D We ain't been cheating. Just tired of waiting 71 hours and 59 mintues for some caches to get approved and posted! Paddler112 started this New Cache topic with a heads up for his Barber's Hill Oil Field cache, and some of the rest of us thought it was a good idea and jumped on the band wagon! We waited over 56 hours for Little Johnny's Sight to get approved, and paddler112's new Barber's Hill Veteran's Memorial cache still hasn't posted. Don't know what time he submitted it to GC.com, but longer than 36 hours ago, cause it's been 36 hours since he posted it here on the forum. That's just tooooo long to wait.

Well, no wonder I've been STF on so many east side caches lately. You folks been cheatin' on this here board! ;D I always like to see everyone getting a fair chance. That’s why I use to post my caches on Friday night after the parks were closed. Come Saturday morning everyone could make a run for the new cache. Kind of like a mini-event. But this was when 9Key worked for us. With Prime at the helm you never know when your cache may get approved. I like the Heads-Up (New Cache) alert here at ESC. Way to go paddler112. Now if that TB Hotel would of had a Heads-Up...

OK, maybe I wuz just pokin' a little fun... I think it took about 2 days for PA to approve my TB Exchange cache. I hate to be hard on the guy, considering he's a volunteer and all. If you look at the "Newest in Texas" list, he's approved 62 caches since Feb 1. I don't know how long it takes to review and approve a cache, but it sure SEEMS like his workload has increased recently. Maybe they need to split Texas up between two or more approvers.

Snatched the FTF in my own backyard out from under my nose...OUCH Congrats on the FTF WCB even if I had seen this thread when it first popped up I wouldn't have been off work until 6 pm and still would have lost the FTF... I'll grabbed it in the morning on the way to work at 0400 I've already deciphered the puzzle just need to stop and grab it. Paddler112 Nice cache...had this one set up as a Virtual using my FIL's name as the claim before I realized there were no more Virtuals WTT-B2
