OK, first off, for an event planned by 7 people and having something in the order of 800+ attend, the event went off just great. Sure, there were sound system problems and a lot of confusion but that is a big event. Things are going to happen. We arrived there the Wednesday before the event and stayed till the Wednesday after. Our goal was 250 finds in the week but we fell short by about 50 or so. We are happy with the results none the less. We biked about 100 of these finds and did the rest on foot. There were many caches in the park and around different campsites. There were chiggers. Big deal... Many new caching friends made and a few we will continute to keep in touch with. Met some approvers from across the country as well and they all seemed like nice people. Many coin sellers there like Chris Rake from CRAKE and CoinsandPins as well as OakCoins. There was even a guy there selling a brand new coin received 1 day before the event. It looks like a truck tire and is themed after his site www.Geotruckers.com . Event wise, there were several. A chili cook-off, TB, Degree of Sep, CITO among others. Even a big BBQ dinner Saturday evening. Houston Control and KandRS got to see Mrs. ATMA get attacked by a Bobcat too... She won but not without some blood loss. There were lots of prizes handed out and we didnt win a one but was given a ton of coins from other cachers for our collection and bought a few too. We even got to see the original Can Of Beans from the very first geocache. It was there and very well protected by Team 360. This was about all we expected it to be and we had a very good time there. Maybe some others will input their experiences too. It will be neat to see their take on the even in general.

Wonder how long it would take to make a pet out of it?
